Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell was an actress on television, former chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and previously taught cooking. Anne W. Burrell is the host on Secrets of a Restaurant Chef for the Food Network, as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Chef Burrell has worked for a time in New York at top restaurants as well as studied Italian cuisine traditions and landscape. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Burrell was born within New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. Her passion was for the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communication from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was in Italy for a whole year attending classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. Also, she was employed at La Taverna del Lupo and La Bottega del 30 (a Michelin starred restaurant) in Tuscany. The time she spent in Italy allowed her to comprehend and appreciate the Italian way of life and its culture and this has left an impact on her own perception of food. Burrell was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to improve the lives of kids facing problems. Burrell is also an Juvenile Research Foundation celebrity ambassador who promotes awareness of children with diabetes. Burrell is often a guest speaker at conferences and travels across the nation in her mentorship job. Through her culinary adventures, Anne often says that she feels extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to share my true passion for life with people.
